STHS Counseling Department - Helping Find the Right Path for YOU! ![]() High School Counseling Center 3500 Elmerton Avenue Harrisburg, PA 17109 717-657-5117 Fax (717) 671-9932 SPECIAL NOTES: Transcript Requests: The Counseling Center needs at least one week to process transcripts requests when copies of transcripts must accompany college applications. Counselor Letters of Recommendation: A two-week notice is required when a letter of recommendation is needed from a student's School Counselor for college applications and scholarship applications. The Counseling Center cannot guarantee that the support materials needed when submitting college applications or scholarship applications will reach their end destinations by the application deadline date when students do not plan ahead by providing sufficient advance notice to the Counseling Staff. With the volume of such requests being processed by the Guidance Office, students must plan accordingly. About the Counseling Department The Counseling Department provides services and resources for the students as an aid to educational, vocational, social, and personal development. Each student is considered as an individual with unique interests, abilities, and opportunities. Individual conferences are held each year in order to aid the student during various stages of growth and development. In addition to the personal services extended to students and parents, the guidance staff responds to the needs of the educational community by testing, maintaining records, making agency referrals and acting as liason between students, faculty and/or parents. Students are also assisted in making appropriate course selections according to their abilities, aptitudes, and future career goals. 71-9932 |
